Muscat: Oman national team won two more gold medals in the 13th GCC Swimming Championship (short course), which is underway in Doha, Qatar.
According to information received here, Oman's Issa Al Adawi and Abdulrahman Al Kulaibi struck gold, raising the national team accomplishments to five medals including four golds and one silver.
Oman therefore are placed third in the competition which concludes on Saturday.
Issa Al Adawi swam to golden finish in the 200 meters freestyle competition in a close contest. Al Adawi finished with a timing of 1:54.62, followed by the Bahraini swimmer who crossed the same distance in 1:55.03. The Emirati swimmer Yousif Omer came third in 1.58.77.
On the other hand, Abdulrahman Al Kulaibi won the second gold medal on the day finishing first in the 400 meters competition.
Al Kulaibi crossed the distance in 4:43.30, followed by the Qatari swimmer Abdulrahman Hisham (4:44.70) and UAE swimmer Omar Al Hammadi (4:47.19).
