12 per cent growth in flights from Muscat International Airport

Muscat: Flights from the Muscat International Airport recorded a quarterly growth of 11.9 per cent during the first quarter of the current year, according to the National Centre for Statistics and Information.
A total of 27,605 flights operated from the airport corresponding to 24,669 flights during the same period last year. It included 25,063 international flights amounting to an increase of 2,651 compared to the first quarter of the previous year while the number of the domestic flights increased by 12.6 per cent from 2,257 to 2,542 during the same period .
Also the total number of passengers through Muscat International Airport reached 3.3 million compared to 2.9 million passengers during the corresponding period of the previous year recording a growth of 15.9 per cent
During the first quarter of the current year, Salalah Airport witnessed a jump in the total number of flights and passengers. The number of flights increased to 3,067 recording a growth of 41.8 per cent and the number of passengers increased by 31 per cent amounting to 334,000 travellers.
