Muscat: A fridge has been installed outside the Oasis Mall in Al Khuwair for workers, from where they can get meals, fruits and drinks donated by people.
“Edibles and drinkables can be donated by whoever wishes to donate, and be consumed by whoever is in need and feeling thirsty during Iftar time. This is a gesture for Ramadan by the Oasis Mall in Al Khuwair,” an official from the mall said. The mall is also calling upon members of the community to showcase their compassion by supporting their Ramadan campaigns to help the needy.
The mall announced the launch of its ‘Clothes for Compassion’ initiative, a month-long collection drive for clothing and shoes for the needy.
The campaign engages community members in alleviating the hardships of the least fortunate in and around Oman.
“Oasis Mall Al Khuwair has set collection points in the mall where members of the community can put the clothes they wish to donate in the campaign-branded boxes distributed by the mall. The initiative will last for one full month before the Dar Al Atta’a charity organisation takes charge of delivering the clothes.”
“CSR is an integral part of our strategy and value proposition for the community,” said Mark Ruffley, business head, Oasis Malls. “The Clothes for Compassion campaign is actually inspired by the recognised humanitarian heritage of Sultanate of Oman, with numerous leading initiatives undertaken locally to contribute to the well-being of communities globally.”
With the help of the Times of Oman and Al Shabibah newspaper, Oasis Mall Al Khuwair’s ‘Clothes for Compassion’ donation bags are being circulated door to door with the daily paper. Dar Al Atta’a charity will finally take all the clothes and shoes and have them sent to homes within the country.
“The month of Ramadan is a month of giving, of joy and of many blessings, and as Oasis Mall has completed one year in Oman, it is time to give back to the community, and bring joy to many hearts and smiles to many faces,” the official added.
