Muscat: Temperatures are predicted to drop considerably in Oman from Saturday night to Tuesday because of the northeasterly winds blowing through the Sultanate, according to the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA).
In its latest alert, PACA also updated residents on a tropical storm based in the Arabian Sea which, they say, will move towards the Indian subcontinent during the next few days without any effect on the Sultanate.
Weather watchers said the latest satellite imagery and weather chart analysis show the existence of scattered convective clouds associated with the tropical storm (OCKHI) south east of the Arabian Sea.
“The storm is likely to intensify and move towards the centre of Arabian Sea within the next 24 hours without any effect in Oman,” the PACA said.
