The Research Council board holds discussions

Muscat: The Research Council (TRC) Board on Sunday held its third meeting of the year under the chair of Dr. Rawiya bint Saud Al Busaidiyah, Minister of Higher Education and Deputy Chairperson, TRC Board.
The Board discussed the recommendations of the 10th and 11th meeting of the International Consultancy Committee which aim at enhancing the role of scientific research in the Sultanate.
The meeting also discussed the vision of the international committee on the importance of augmenting expenditure on scientific research in the Sultanate to meet the national aims and aspirations outlined in the national scientific research strategy.
The meeting also discussed the efforts made by TRC to communicate with society through the scientific research and innovation support programmes system to meet the Sultanate’s aspiration in this regard.
It should be noted also that the international consultancy committee will hold its 12th meeting today to review a number of reports on the different TRC programmes. The Committee comprises a number of scientists and experts in the different scientific fields from the different countries of the world to benefit from their experiences and submit their recommendations for enhancing scientific research and innovation in the Sultanate.
