Muscat: The ‘Tala’ Initiative was launched yesterday from the Ministry of Tourism building towards the Wilayat of Muscat, passing through the waterfront Corniche, Muttrah Souq to the National Museum and the area that attracts tourists and visitors for sightseeing and photographing near the Al Alam Palace.
The initiative was organised by a number of Omani student associations studying abroad, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Mwasalat.
The ceremony was sponsored by Maitha bint Saif Al Mahrouqiyah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism.
She said that the ‘Tala’ initiative was attended by Omani students studying abroad to familiarise them with Omani tourism and how to promote the Sultanate.
She added that the ministry is participating in this initiative to educate Omani youth not only to promote tourism, but also to instill a culture of community work among young people, which is one of the ideas that are compatible with the Omani tourism strategy.
Hilal bin Mudhafar Al Riyami, Head of My Experience Initiative, said that the initiative was launched by the Omani Society in Queensland-Australia in 2014 in cooperation with a number of Omani student associations studying in scholarship countries around the world and aims at the potential scholarship students.
