Kuwait City: Fans of the UAE football team who have arrived to support their country at the final of the Arab Gulf Cup this evening are showing solidarity with their Omani brothers.
Although they may be waving flags, chanting through loudspeakers and banging drums in rhythmic fashion, the chants accompanying their tunes are ‘Hail Oman’ and ‘two swords’, referring to Oman’s national symbol of two crossed swords and a khanjar, a great show of camaraderie between fans of the two nations.
Kick-off for the final at the Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium is at 630 pm this evening.
