Oman Avenues Mall participate in Earth Hour 2016

Muscat: As the world stands at a climate crossroad, it is powerful yet humbling to think that our actions today will decide what tomorrow will look like for the generations to come.
From changing individual behaviour to legislation, Earth Hour has achieved massive environmental impact, but as climate change accelerates, our response needs to grow too.
The Oman Avenues Mall pledged to raise awareness by switching off non-essential lights, which will help guide over 172 Earth Hour teams worldwide to change the attitude towards climate change in their country.
The Mall had run a voluntary campaign for its retailers to combat climate change by switching off power supply to their stores as well, saying that such actions would create a real impact on the planet.
Commenting on the celebrations for Earth Hour 2016, general manager, Ben Watson said, “The Oman Avenues Mall has always strived to stay ahead in the betterment of the community, so we had run a campaign on social media with #OMANEARTHHOUR2016 from March 16, 2016. The power supply to common areas and the Mall were switched off, as well as to selected outlets, including Easy Life, Nandos, Bread Talk, Spun Candy & Illy café.”
