New Delhi: Officials say at least 30 children are dead after their school bus crashed into a ravine in northern India on Monday.
The bus was returning from school in the Himalayan state of Himachal Pradesh when it went off the road and plunged 200 feet to the bottom of the ravine.
A teacher and the driver were also killed.
Several students are reportedly fighting for their lives in nearby hospitals.
Vehicle accidents are common in India, where in 2016, as many as 40,000 people died in crashes.
