Oman share index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM30 Index was stable at 4,730.83 points, down 0.01 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index ended at 661.42 points, up 0.22 per cent. Al Madina Takaful was the most active stock in terms of volume and turnover. It remained the top gainer as well, up 6.00 per cent, while the top loser was Voltamp Energy, down 10.00 per cent.
A total number of 1,322 trades were executed today, generating turnover of OMR5.89 million with 48.3 million shares changing hands. Out of 42 traded securities, 15 advanced, 8 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, Foreign investors were net buyers for OMR47,000 followed by GCC & Arab Investors for OMR20,000 while Omanis continued to be net sellers for OMR 67,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.29 per cent to finish at 7,310.59 points. Oman & Emirates Holding, Muscat Finance, Al Madina Takaful, Oman Qatar Insurance and Al Madina Investments were up by 5.98 per cent, 5.00 per cent, 4.72 per cent, 2.46 per cent and 1.82 per cent respectively. Dhofar Insurance, Bank Sohar, Ominvest and Al Anwar Holding declined 4.81 per cent, 1.37 per cent, 1.04 per cent and 0.67 per cent respectively.
Industrial Sector advanced 0.50 per cent to close at 6,383.36 points. Al Hassan Engineering, Oman Fisheries and Galfar Engineering gained 10.00 per cent, 4.27 per cent and 3.60 per cent respectively. Al Anwar Ceramics and National Aluminium lost 0.86 per cent and 0.61 per cent respectively.
Services Index ended at 2,529.19 points, up 0.15 per cent. National Gas, OIFC and Al Jazeera Services gained 2.13 per cent, 1.68 per cent and 1.25 per cent respectively while Muscat Gases and Ooredoo were down by 8.73 per cent and 0.42 per cent respectively.
