Oman share index ends marginally higher

Muscat: The MSM30 Index ended the day at 4,686.56 points, up 0.11 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index advanced 0.52 per cent to close at 665.60 points. Al Madina Takaful was the most active in terms of volume while Ooredoo led in terms of turnover. Oman Qatar Insurance was the top gainer, up 4.17 per cent while the top loser was National Aluminium, down 6.29 per cent.
A total number of 632 trades were executed on Sunday, generating turnover of OMR2.37 million with 13.05 million shares changing hands. Out of 38 traded securities, 9 advanced, 9 declined and 20 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR543,000 followed by Foreign Investors for OMR1,000 while Omani Investors switched to net sellers for OMR544,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 7,303.11 points, up 0.11 per cent. Oman Qatar Insurance, Al Madina Takaful, Bank Nizwa, Muscat Finance and Vision Insurance gained 4.17 per cent, 2.78 per cent, 2.27 per cent, 1.01 per cent and 0.68 per cent respectively. Bank Dhofar, Oman United Insurance, Al Izz Bank and Al Sharqia Investments declined 2.16 per cent, 1.84 per cent, 1.25 per cent and 0.77 per cent respectively.
Industrial Sector had sharp loss of 0.78 per cent to finish at 6,324.15 points. Oman Fisheries, up 0.83 per cent, was the sole gainer. National Aluminium, Voltamp Energy, Galfar Engineering and Al Jazeera Steel declined 6.29 per cent, 5.56 per cent, 0.88 per cent and 0.62 per cent respectively.
Services Index ended at 2,505.94 points, up 0.35 per cent. Ooredoo and Al Jazeera Steel increased 3.38 per cent and 1.25 per cent respectively. Construction Materials, down 6.25 per cent, was the sole sector loser.
