Medical meet to discuss latest techniques in diagnosis, treatment

Muscat: The Ministry of Health will organise the second International Royal Hospital conference, which will take place from April 11 to 13, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The event will be launched under the patronage of His Highness Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Chairman of Scientific Research Council. The Ministry of Health held a press conference on Monday at the Royal Hospital detailing the plans for this year’s event titled, “Translating Medical Innovation to Practice”.
The three-day conference aims to discuss the latest developments in treatment and diagnosis in various medical specialisations, highlighting technologies and medical devices, as well as exchanging experiences.
Various local and international medical and administrative staff working in the health sector will attend the conference.
This year, the ministry expects approximately 2,000 participants along with 350 lecturers at the conference.
The second international conference will include 118 scientific sessions in different medical specialisations, such as anaesthesia, critical care for adults, paediatric, internal medicine, oncology, nursing, nuclear medicine, radiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, pharmacology and medical drug stores.
The conference will also highlight the surgery (general surgery, tumours surgery, urology), hyperbaric medicine, accidents & emergency, medical laboratories (histopathology), heart diseases, quality & patient safety, legal affairs and labour care.
