Indian Embassy marks 70th Republic Day

Muscat: The Indian Embassy in Oman celebrated India’s 70th Republic Day with a flag hoisting ceremony and a reception.
A spokesperson from the Embassy of India said, “To celebrate the 70th Republic Day of India, a flag hoisting ceremony was held on January 26, at 8.30am, at the Embassy of India premises in the Diplomatic Area in Jamiat Al Dowal Al Arabia street, Al Khuwair.”
The country’s ambassador Munu Mahawar hoisted the tricolour to mark the occasion.
The spokesperson added, “The Embassy also hosted a reception attended by about 450 guests.”
The reception was graced by Dr. Fuad bin Ja’afar bin Mohammed Al Sajwani, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries , as the guest of honour.
There were also cultural performances by talented Indian artistes based in Oman
In addition, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) also conveyed its greetings to the Indian community. “The Ministry of External Affairs wishes you a happy 70th Republic Day,” said Raveesh Kumar, the official MEA spokesperson.
