Krishna upsets top seed Marwan in U-14 singles match

Muscat: Rudra Krishna caused the first major upset at the ISC-Muscat Pharmacy Open Junior Tennis Tournament when stunned top seed Marwan Al Khanjari in the boys under-14 singles event.
In an exciting round of sixteen match, the talented Omani player Marwan and Rudra Krishna played top notch tennis before Rudra Krishna edged past the top seed with a 8-6 score.
Rudra Krishna earned the first break in the fifth game and held for a 4-2 lead. The gritty Marwan levelled at four games all. They exchanged breaks until six games all when Rudra Krishna earned the crucial break and served out the match to send pack off the top seed.
In other matches of the boys under-14 singles, Devdutt Subach downed Mikhail Sarit 8-3, Praneeth Raj was in awesome touch and blanked G. Mukesh 8-0, Nandakumar SN defeated Vijay Rajendran 8-1, Issa Al Suleimani defeated Anand vinod Nair with a convincing 8-1 margin and another talented Omani Ali Al Busaidi scored a brilliant 8-1 victory over Devdutt Subash.
In action from the boys under-12 singles, Mahi Rohit proved too strong for Harshdwip Das whom he beat with a 8-1 score and Advait Kapil was in good nick and beat Riddish Mane 8-1.
