Meeting focuses on safety and security laws for industries

Muscat: In line with its efforts to highlight major issues of importance to the industrialists, the Quality Improvement Committee of Sohar Industrial City held recently a meeting to discuss safety and security laws and requirements of industrial units, and the procedures related to the issuance of approvals and licenses for these units.
Chaired by Eng. Abdulqadir bin Salim Al Balushi, Director General of Sohar Industrial City, the meeting was attended by a number of business owners based in the industrial city and representatives of civil defence.
Prior to this meeting, another meeting was held with the Directorate General of Manpower to discuss Omanisation and substitution in the companies, issuance of approvals, electronic forms, among other topics.
These meetings aim at underscoring various challenges facing the operating companies in Sohar Industrial City and highlighting recommendations to tackle these challenges.
The constant efforts undertaken by Sohar Industrial City aim at achieving an attractive investment environment through building interactive channels with the related government bodies.
