Muscat: Forbes Middle East revealed the fourth Top Indian Leaders in the Arab World at a gala ceremony hosted at the Waldorf Astoria, Dubai Palm Jumeirah recently. The defining list recognises the most successful and groundbreaking Indian leaders in the Middle East.
T.P. Seetharaman, Indian Ambassador to the UAE, graced the occasion as the guest of honour and presented the awards to the winner.
Achievers from various sectors like retail, industrials, healthcare, banking and finance, among others were recognised during the event in two categories – top owners and top executive management. Out of the 100 in the top owners list, 91 of them were based out of the UAE. Diversified companies dominated the awards list, followed by retail and industrials, while luminaries from 21 other sectors were also honoured at the event.
In recognition of his contribution to the banking and finance sector in the GCC, Adeeb Ahamed, managing director, Asia Express Exchange, was honoured for the second consecutive year. UnderAdeeb's leadership, Asia Express Exchange has grown to become one of the leading remittance and foreign exchange companies in the region. Many other noted owners and founders were also honoured during the ceremony, including, Yusuff Ali M A, Ravi Pillai, Dr. ShamsheerVayalil, Sunny Varkey and Dr. Azad Moopen, among others.
In addition to entrepreneurs, Forbes Middle East also honoured Indians who have leadership position in the region, including Sanjeev Chaddah, chief executive officer of PepsiCo Asia, Middle East and Africa, Raghavan Seetharamn, Group chief executive officer, Doha Bank and Raghu Malhotra, president – Middle East and Africa, MasterCard, among others.

The recognition will help me reassert my commitment to set management benchmark standards in the region’s financial industry,” said Adeeb Ahamed on the sidelines of receiving the award.
