At the main Sultan Qaboos road in South Al Hail there is Masjid Al Sayyid Hamed Bin Hamood, one of the oldest and most famous mosques in the Seeb area of Muscat, and was named after the special advisor of his majesty the Sultan. This 35-year-old mosque is designed in a circular fashion, depicting a large dome. Its exterior wall is decked with real mixed stones and concrete cement, giving us a unique, ancient feel to it. The area of the mosque is quite huge. One can usually compare it to a small garden, due to its beautiful trees between the praying hall and the detached events hall. Till this day, it is commonly known as the best place for marriage ceremonies and funerals. Its red carpeted interior is another fascinating thing to be mentioned.
