Municipality clamps down on illegal street food vendors

Muscat: A number of street food vendors have been raided for the illegal sale of meat and other foodstuffs in Khabourah, North Batinah Municipalities has announced.
Officials revealed that a total of 87 kg of foodstuff were destroyed for being unfit for human consumption.
In a statement online, authorities said, "Khabourah Municipality carried out an inspection campaign to a number of unauthorised place selling meat which is a violation of the public health law."
It added, "87 kg of food, 54 kg of mishkak and 35 kg of seafood were destroyed which were prepared in unhealthy conditions and unfit for human consumption."
