Over 4,000 vaccinated in Musandam in two days

Muscat: More than 4,000 people in Musandam Governorate have been vaccinated during the past two days, after the launch  of the vaccination campaign in the governorate, a senior health official in Musandam Governorate said on Tuesday.

D. Ghanem Al-Saeedi, Director General of  Health Services in Musandam Governorate said in an interview with Oman TV, “The vaccination campaign against Covid-19 in Musandam Governorate, which targets all citizens of 18 years and over, will cover 54 per cent of the governorate's population, and today there are more than 1000 people on the waiting list for vaccination due to the demand."

“There is a large and increasing demand of  the people in Musandam Governorate to take the vaccine after the launch of the vaccination campaign in the governorate. The number of those who received the vaccination until the past two days reached about 4,500 people, representing 27 per cent of the targeted groups."

The demand is from all age groups, especially those in the age groups between 20 to 40 years, Dr. Ghanem added.
